A WARM WELCOME
Heartland Marketplace wanted to create a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walked through the store's sliding doors. With quirky quotations that highlighted their passion and family values throughout every part of their business, I created typography panels to brighten their customer's days.
Entryway Window Perf
Local family business often don't get the recognition they deserve. I wanted to highlight Heartland Marketplace's longstanding value in their community with bright and bold type.
Pulling the contrasting colors from their logo, I was able to choose typefaces that gave the words a hand-letter, old-school feel - without losing the modern, bright touches.
Adding a subtle drop-shadow look with a darker shade of blue livens the look of each quote with a 3-dimensional quality that raises the type off the background.
Custom TOMRA Wraps
In addition to their main entrance, Heartland Marketplace wanted to add some color to their Can & Bottle Return Center. Making the Recycling Center fun for kids would create a fun place kids and parents alike upgrading bottle return from a mundane chore to a a unique "feeding the dinosaurs" experience.
With just the idea of turning the TOMRA machine faces into Dinosaurs, Heartland Marketplace challenged me to create 4 distinct and vibrant dinosaur characters that would fit perfectly over their existing machines.
Starting with the vector art, I created photo-realistic mock-ups of the vinyl decals to showcase the designs. I then was challenged to create templates for each unique TOMRA machine for print production and installation.
