 A NEW CHAPTER

South Lyon East came to us with the desire to make a big impact within their new space. They had a blank canvas with their new state-of-the-art building, and wanted to build their brand and make their mark within every department. This project is still a work in progress, but I am excited to see how South Lyon East High School is transformed.

A New Face

South Lyon East brought their emblem, the new symbol for their school, and their old Cougar mascot. They wanted to work the cougar head into a few of the designs so as not to completely move away from their old outward identity.

I created a few options for the Gymnasium - the main place they wanted to showcase their new fusion of old and new elements. With such a large are to fill, we wanted to make the design more than just large.

Using multi-layered pieces that fit into eachother and a peg system, we were able to successfully lift the cougar head a few inches off the back "E" emblem. Just enough space to create some depth, and not enough for some rowdy high schoolers to damage or remove the pieces.

Overall, the piece was a hit. We documented the student's reactions to the new buildings and the new mascot overlooking their gym.

See the detailed schematics of the layered piece below, as well as some other concepts that are currently in the works for the school.

A Bold Entrance

South Lyon East brought their emblem, the new symbol for their school, and their old Cougar mascot. They wanted to work the cougar head into a few of the designs so as not to completely move away from their old outward identity.

I created mock-ups and standards for the new Be East identity. Choosing a new typeface to compliment the curved E emblem, and showcasing both in the vaulted entryway created a bold, collegiate look that blew South Lyon away.

I incorporated interior and exterior mock-ups to present South Lyon the new look they could expect for their school. Using window perf, vinyl, and glass printing techniques opposite the large format dimensional signage, I succeeded in bringing South Lyon's vision for the future to life.

This work is currently still in progress. We are in production phases and I will be updating the project with finished pieces in the coming weeks.
